I had to watch it 3 times to come to a very simple conclusion: Masterpiece.

Man, Jesse Plemons is always a bad guy: Breaking Bad, this movie, Fargo. Al Capone, Baby Face Nelson, Tony Pro, this guy has played some good gangster roles.

The extras they hired for that union meeting scene really do look like they're from that era

To sum up how great this movie is, 3.5 hours feels like 2.5 hours. I wanted to watch more!
The cast is stellar, top to bottom, the anti-aging effect, you do not even notice as the viewer is immersed in the story and performance, and the direction, top quality notch!
This movie is without doubt the best movie I have seen in years, let alone 2019, worth the hype!
I cannot fault this movie, and the only reason I rated this movie 9, is because I cannot pre-order a 4K UHD version! I want the extended scenes, the commentary, the lot.
Masterclass in movie making, this one is for all the ages, and will be etched in the annals of movie history. Talent is temporary, class is permanent.

Tony Pro should have his own movie. Stephen Graham was amazing. My favorite character in the film. Apparently it has come to surface that Sally Bugs shot Jimmy Hoffa. The negative backlash to this movie shows me how modern audiences are emotionally culturally bankrupt in terms of art and cinema.

This feels like what Michael Corleone would really be like if The Godfather: Part III was a good movie. Great movie, but It was the Gallos and Snake Persico who hit the Mad Hatter. On paper this film looked like a great but in reality it was a long drawn out and relatively mundane affair. The cast were great and it's by a great director but for some reason it just didn't gel. At about 3 hours and 29 minutes it's a marathon of a film to watch primary as it plods along so slowly.
It's worth watching once but I doubt very much it will have the longevity of Goodfella's or The Godfather.
